iPads in India

Now that the new iPads are in India I would strongly recommend you to buy iPad Air 2 only. Or else iPad mini 2 if you are short on budget. No point of buying iPad mini 3 unless you are ready to spend 100 dollars extra for the touch ID.

iPad Air 2

It is without doubt the fastest iOS device ever. It has been updated very nicely. It's processor has been updated to A8X from A7. And this time the processor has 3 cores. It is extremely rare but Apple is famous for doing unexpected things. It has a 2 GB RAM as well. So it is a total powerhouse. You won't feel any lag in it even when you use it with iOS 10 two years later. When it comes to looks then what you get is a pleasant surprise. It is just 6.1 mm thick. It's display's resolution is the same but the quality has been improved. The camera is now similar to that of iPhone 6. 8 MP with all the slow motion features. And of course the touch ID. If you are using an iPad Air right now then also I will strongly recommend you to buy it.

iMac

iMac was the star of the Apple event. It has the highest resolution display ever made. Just imagine how  beautiful 4k displays of TVs above 47 inch look. 4k means 8 million pixels. The new iMac had a 5k display with over 14.7 million pixels. Thats like 7 times more than our full HD TV. And these many pixels are not on a big screen but in just a 27 inch screen. Apple made some minor updates in it's hardware and it comes with OS X Yosemite. It starts at $2499. It is very expensive but worth it.

The Apple event is on 16 October. Just a day before the launch of iPhone in India. So now the question comes "What is going to come?"
No one can give an answer but here are some expectations:
Refreshed iPad Air and iPad mini will come for sure.
We can see a newer model of iPad with a larger display.
Macs will get some upgrades.
The Macbook Air can get a design upgrade.
Keep checking my blog for more updates.

iPhones in India

The new iPhones will come to India on October 17. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be available in India at Rs. 53,500 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 62,500 for the 64GB variant, and Rs. 71,500 for the 128GB variant. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus has been priced at Rs. 62,500 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB variant, and Rs. 80,500 for the 128GB variant. The iPhone 5s 16GB is available for under Rs. 30,000 at many online stores.
Buying an iPhone 5c will be an extremely bad choice. So I will recommend you to look at only 5s, 6 and 6+. The 5s is the most appealing to be because of it's price and the fact that it's performance is extremely good because of the 64 bit processor. However if money is not an issue and you want a phone with bigger screen and newer technology then go for 6 and 6+.

Which iPhone to buy

The iPhone market is unstable in India right now as the iPhone 6 and 6 plus have nit come yet and the earlier iPhones are getting cheaper. I will advise all of you to not think about buying an iPhone right now. Please wait till the new iPhones come in India. If you plan to buy a new iPhone from abroad then keep only iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 plus as choices. The earlier iPhones even iPhone 5c are not worth buying as apple has been using 64 bit chips for over a year and now some amazing apps and games are coming only for A7 and A8 chip which have a 64 bit architecture. The screen size can be the most important decision factor as the three iPhones have a screen of 4, 4.7 and 5.5 inch respectively. When it comes to performance then they are at the same level, with of course the A8 devices a little above the A7 one. The cameras of the 6 are better than the 5s, especially when it comes to slow motion video recording. The 6 can record in 1080p in 60 fps and in 720p in 240 fps, double than the capacity of the 5s.

iLife on iOS

iPhoto has been removed from the app store because now it's features are integrated in the photos app. iMovie and Garageband have been improved with some new features, not major.

Apple Watch

Firstly, apple watch will come in early 2015, even later in India. It starts at $349. So we can expect it to be around ₹20000. It has 3 editions. One for normal use made of stainless steel. Another for sports made of lightweight aluminium. And a very premium one made of 18 carat gold. They all pair up,with iPhone 5 and above. We have no news about whether they will work with iPads as well but they should. They all have heartbeat sensor. Their control is very different from the other smart watches. A digital crown is used to scroll and zoom and also to select. There is also a key for shortcuts. I will write more about it when is launched in India. If you wish to know more about it then visit Apple's website.

IPhone 6 and 6 plus

The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch Retina HD display with 750p and the 6 plus has 5.5 inch Retina HD display with 1080p. Their pixel densities are 326 and 401 PPI respectively. Their design is new and very good. They are thinner and light. The display doesn't just has more pixels but there are a lot more improvement. They both run on 64 bit A8. To improve the motion sensing M8 has been packed with A8. Both the phones have great battery life. Both have 8 megapixel camera but with an all new sensor. It obviously comes with iOS 8. It also has the touch id which was present in 5S. They start at $649 and $749 respectively. They come on the same 3 colours.

iPhone 6

As always apple hasn't said anything about the iPhone 6. But, all the rumours suggest that the new iPhone will have a 4.7 inch display with saphirre glass. We are also expecting a much improved camera with 4k HD recording. The processor will be 64 bit with improved speed. It can even be a quad core processor. Like last year Apple might launch 2 iPhones. Apple hasn't announced the date of iPhone launch event but from previous events we can say that it will be in early September. So we have to wait for about 50 days to hear about the new iPhones from Apple.

Continuity

The in integration between iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite is seamless. Now you can pick up phone calls and make phone calls from your Mac or iPad while it is near your iPhone. You can also send SMS the same way. There are a lot of other ways in which the macs and iOS devices will work greatly together. Go to apple's website to know about this in greater detail.

iOS 7.1

Apple has brought incredible speed to the iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch 5th gen with the iOS 7.1 which not only will make your device faster but will also fix many bugs. It has iOS in the car support but talking about it is of no use as we don't have cars which support this feature in India. I would reccomend you to instantly update your device. The update is of approx 200 MB.
