MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro with retina display is a combination of great performance and display with aesthetic design. It comes in two sizes 13 inch and 15 inch each having 4 and 5 million pixels respectively. The number of pixels are mindblowing and when you get Intel iris graphics chip to power these pixels then the display quality is one of its kind. The 4th gen intel processors provide enough power to the machine. You can get a maximum of 2.8 GHz dual core i7 on the 13 inch and 2.6 GHz quad core i7 on the 15 inch and a maximum of 16 GB of memory on both models. You can get upto a TB of flash storage in both the models but they get very expensive then. I would reccomend a 256 GB flash storage because on the go you won't require more storage than that and you can get a USB 3 external hard drive of a TB or two at a very reasonable price. Both the models the an HDMI output and can power a 4K display. On the 13 inch model you get Iris graphics and on the 15 inch you get Iris Pro graphics and you also have a choice to add NVIDIA 750M with 2 GB DDR5 memory. You also get great battery life on both the models. Both have latest wifi and bluetooth, and of course OS X Mavericks. If you think you require a lot of power then go with MacBook Pro or else have a look at MacBook Air.

Want a macbook?

Macbooks are the most beautiful notebooks I have seen. If you want one because of its aesthetics, its power, its crisp display or ultraportability then don't worry about which one to buy because all the macbooks are better than the other in some way or the other, I am here to help you choose the best Macbook to suit your needs. First lets get this thing clear, From where are you going to purchase it? Because of the increase in dollar rupee rate, you wont get a significantly cheaper mac in US than you will get in India, but yes, if you but it from the US, then you will have much more customisation options available like a faster processor, more RAM and more storage. If you want a mac just for day to day use or for school, college or work and not for some serious use such as high level photo or video editing or for some powerful job or high level gaming then the Macbook Air is a perfect choice. It comes in two sizes, in 11 inch and in 13 inch. I will recommend the 13 inch model because a screen smaller than it is not suitable for a notebook but if you want it anyways than I will not say that it is bad. The base model has the latest 4th gen intel chip with 4 GB of memory and 128 GB of flash storage. If you pay more then you can get a faster processor, upto 8 GB of memory and 512 GB of flash storage. All the 13 inch models have 2 USB 3 ports and a card reader and have a mindblowing 12 hour battery life. The 11 inch models have 2 USB 3 ports and 9 hours of battery life. All the macs come with OSX Mavericks preinstalled and with a lot of other apple software. The Macbook Airs are famous for their ultra thin design and light weight. But the minimized design doesn't affects the performance. The Macbook Airs are very speedy. Thats all about Macbook airs, if you want complete information about them then please visit apple's website. Now lets come to the Macbook Pros. The Macbook Pro without retina display is obsolete so just not discuss about it. The Macbook Pros with retina display are a perfect match for you if you want some serious performance and graphics. Please wait for my next blog to know all abot Macbook Pro. Bye.

Which iPad to buy?

The 2.5 years old iPad 2 is available in the market for $399 and a year old iPad mini aswell for $299. So, is it a good choice to go with these? Clearly I will say NO. Both of them run on A5 whereas the latest iPad Air and iPad mini with retina display run on A7. That clearly makes the new iPads 4 times faster than the older iPads. Plus the new iPads have M7 coprocessor which takes motion sensors to a whole new level, especially beneficial for use in tracking runs and other fitness activities. The camera has a little bit improvement from the iPad mini but there is no comparison between the new cameras of the new iPads with the camera of the iPad 2. And also, the iPad 2 doesn't has lightning connector, which is being used in all iOS devices since 2012. Then lets talk about the display. Well I don't need to say anything on this, you all know the latest iPads have retina display, which means 4 times the number of pixels present in the displays of the earlier iPads. And yes of course the quality of the speakers have slight improvement and the dual mics now make audio recording way better. The design of the iPad air makes the iPad 2 obsolete. The great aluminum body of the iPad air is so sleek, strong, beautiful and much easier to hold. But there is no improvement in the design of the iPad mini, instead the newer one is slightly heavier and thicker but it is justified because of the retina deisplay and a bigger battery.

Now lets come to what to buy and what not to. So if you don't have any iPad now then don't even think about the older iPads. Spending a hundred dollars more can do wonders. If you have the iPad (1st gen) or the iPad 2 then you must switch to a newer iPad. If you wish to continue with the 9.7 inch display then pick up the iPad Air or else the iPad mini with a 7.9 inch retina display will suit your needs. If you have an iPad mini then you need to do a lot of thinking. I am myself using an iPad mini and right now writing this blog on it. It is a great device. Switching to the newer iPads will definately be very good but I will say that you should continue with this device if you are happy with it's performance or graphics. My work is to only suggest you, buying the iPad is your decision. For more information about the iPads please visit apple's website or if you have any question the please do ask me by sending an email or an iMessage to suyash7a@gmail.com.

iLife

The iLife software for iOS is amazing. iMovie and iPhoto are the best video and photo editing apps respectively for the iOS. If you are buying a new iOS device then you will get these for free, well thats great. On the other hand the existing users should purchase these apps, each of 5 dollars or 270 rupees. Spending money on these apps is worth. Apple made a demo version of Garageband free for all and charges 5 dollars or 270 rupees for the complete version. Since you can get the demo version for free, therefore you can best judge Garageband. Buy it only if you find it useful; not all music lovers are gonna love it.

iPads

Two new iPads were launched recently. The iPad air replaced the main line of iPads and iPad mini with retina display overcomes the shortcomings of the iPad mini. Both these devices pack with the latest A7 chip which is 64-bit, the only of it's kind and also powers the iPhone 5s. Both of them have the same resolution 2048 x 1536 giving 264 ppi on the iPad air and 326 ppi on the iPad mini with retina display. The iPad air maintains the same price tag starting at 499 dollars but the iPad mini with retina display starts from 399, 70 dollars more than the previous one, but it is worth as it has retina display and a7 chip. Both these new devices have the same back cameras but the front camera has improved with bigger pixels. Apple is still selling the old iPad mini and the iPad 2 at 299 and 399 dollars respectively. These devices are expected to come in India in December.

iPhone 4 and 4s get price cut

Apple has cut down the price of the earlier iphones. Now you can get a 4s for 31,500 and iPhone 4 8GB for 21,000 and 16GB for 25,000. So now buying a 4s is worth but getting 4 is useless. It was introduced over 3 years ago has a slow processor and most probably won't support iOS 8.

What is apple making?

There are no news from apple about their new products or an event but apple will definately launch some products in the end of this month or in November. Since apple is not telling us anything about what they are making so we can only guess, but yes, it is sure that apple will launch its new iPad and iPad mini this year only. Guessing what these two devices will have is easy. The iPad will obviously have A7x chip and a sleek aluminium body like that of iPad mini. It can possibly have a better camera. The iPad mini will have a retina display and a better chip, atleast A6 or it can even have A7. There will be no improvement in design. What else can we expect from apple this year? Macbook Air with retina display, new lineup of Macbook Pros with 4th gen intel chips, Mac Pro, Apple TV with A7 and the most rumoured iWatch. Some new iPods can also be seen this year, especially the classic with a better design and shuffle with more storage.

iOS 7 is now available for installation across the globe. If you have downloaded it then very well else the first thing you should do after reading this blog is to install iOS 7. It is a little more than 700 mb download. It brings in amazing new features. It is thrilling to use iOS 7. Whatever apple said about this amazing OS is true. The most visible change is in the design. All the icons are new. The lockscreen has an amazingly gorgeous look and notification cente and spotlight search also have refreshed looks and there is something new, Control centre it is. You can access it from anywhere and it has all the inportant things like sound change, music player, camera, wifi, bluetooth switches and airdrop. Then comes new music player, itunes store and appstore. You should check them yourself. Then siri is way better. Now it understand almost everything. It has both male and female voices now. iPhone 4s

iPhone 4s was apple's breakthrough device two years back, but how how is it surviving till now as we have 5s and 5c and is it a good deal in today's market? You will get all the answers here. Firstly, this device has A5 chip, apple's most popular chip which is used in iPad 2, iPad mini and iPod touch 5g as well. This dual core chip gives amazing performance. It is't much behind the latest A7 chip. Secondly, the display. It has a 3.5 inch retina display, half inch smaller than 5s and 5c but with same amazing quality. It has the same back camera as that of 5c. It's design and glass feel is also exclusive. It can be upgraded to iOS 7, which means it will have many more new features. So is it a good deal? Well if you are okay with a 3.5 inch screen and a bit slower processor and you are okay with black or white colour then you should choose 4s over 5c and save a 100 bucks. But if you compare it with 5s then well 4s proves out not to be a good deal. Spending 200 bucks extra on 5s will give you much better camera, bigger screen, 4 times faster performance and graphics, improved motion sensors, a better and lighter design and yes, fingerprint sensor. What you buy is upto you. But I am sure that if you choose 4s then you will not regret.

iOS 7

All iOS users please pay attention here. iOS 7, the much awaited OS will be available for download on 18 September worldwide. Getting this OS will make your device look look look completely new. It has numerous good features to make your like simpler. Some of them are control centre, new notification centre, better keyboard, awesome multitasking, mature siri, feature added safari and a new lock screen. I strongly recommend you to check  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4xu9iH6VAM
To know more about iOS 7.

iPhone 5c

Unlike iPhone 5s, the 5c has an all new design but the same things inside. It sports the same fast A6 chip that was in iPhone 5. It also has the same camera and the same retina display. What's new is the design. It has a plastic back, a high quality plastics, much better than that present in iPhone 3g and 3gs. It comes in 5 different colours, as the name 5c stands for 5 colours. And for sure it comes with iOS 7 which will by default have a theme to match with the colour of your iPhone. Since the 'c' of iPhone 5c doesn't stands for cheap so don't think you can get it at a low price. The 16 GB model is of  $549 and the 32 GB one is of $649 and there is no 64 Gb model. To know more about it check http://www.apple.com/in/iphone-5c/

iPhone 5s

Apple launched the much awaited iPhone 5s on 10th September. It's design is same as that of iPhone 5 but the insides have totally changed. It now has an A7 processor which is believed to be twice as fast as iphone 5. It also has a M7 chip. That is something new. M7 means motion 7, and it improves the motion sensors of the iPhone. It has an all new camera, which is 8 megapixels but with bigger pixels to give much better photos. Obviously the iPhone 5s comes with iOS 7, a gorgeous looking OS  full of new amazing features. It also has the same 4 inch retina display, no inprovement there. But the newest feature it has is a fingerprint sensor. It is built discreetly in the home button. Now noone othan than you can unlock your iPhone. The 16 GB version is of $649, the 32 GB for $749 and 64 GB for $849. To know more about it check apple's website  http://www.apple.com/in/iphone-5s/
